If you're a business owner with a Facebook page, you agreed at some point or another to follow the rules. Whether you actually read the rules or not before you ticked that little box is another story. Well, Facebook is cracking down on businesses bucking the system. There have been companies who have had their pages deleted recently resulting in the loss of all of their fans. And you know how hard it is to build up that fan base! To help our customers, we wanted to draw attention to a couple rules below that are commonly broken. After all, you don't want any trouble from the man. And yes, you may see other people doing these things ALL. THE. TIME. But wouldn't you hate to be the person who did and then lose your page? You can't say we didn't warn you! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we can help you get set up right!

Do NOT use your Cover Photo as an ad. It can not include contact details, pricing or purchase information, or call to action nor can it reference other Facebook elements like "Share this page/photo" or use an arrow to point to the "like" button. We were guilty of this one ourselves before we brushed up on the rules. If you need help putting together a custom cover photo that follows the proper guidelines but still catches your audience's eye, contact us today!

Do NOT use your Facebook page to run a promotion. Well, unless you really know what you're doing. Yes, I know everyone and their brother has used the "share this page with your friends and win" or "like/comment on this picture for a chance to win", but those types of promotions are against the rules. You can run promotions on your page, but it must be done with an app or custom page. Contact us for more details.
