In the summer of 2015, 6 year old Lucas was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer called Pseudomyogenic Hemangioendothelioma. Lucas fought hard and, after 2 years of exhausting treatments and surgeries, he was excited to be getting back into a somewhat normal kid life. In late 2017, his oncologist noticed something in an x-ray that required a further look. After tests and scans from the last 2 years had shown either stable or decrease in disease, PET scan showed an uptake in disease (tumor growth) in Lucas' ankle.
This was devastating for Lucas and his family and they are again faced with a tough fight. His school and community has rallied around Lucas and is raising money to help support the family during this difficult time.
Please consider donating to his GoFundMe page or purchasing a t-shirt to show your support! All proceeds will go to the Winarski family. Treatment and doctor costs are just the tip of the iceburg. There are so many other costs such as gas, hotels, travel, food and missed time from work that all adds up. Any support would be much appreciated!
