Social media management. Brochures. Guerilla marketing. Digital ad campaigns. Search engine optimization. Inbound marketing. Online review management.

The list goes on and on.

Often times you probably find yourself with a mess of options wondering “what the heck do I really need to do?!?” And if you’re working with a limited marketing budget, you might be tempted to just leave it all on the table and walk away.

Please don’t do that.

As the experts, we’re here to tell you that doing nothing is a quick way to get nowhere. There is no “Field of Dreams” type situation where you build it and they come. Customers need to learn about you. They need to understand what problem you solve in their lives. They need to be compelled to contact you and find out more.
So to make things a little easier, we’ve summarized the absolute marketing must-haves for ANY business. We don’t care if you sell a service, widgets, or million-dollar equipment; do yourself a favor and read below.

Have a strong, unique visual that represents your business. Don’t use clip art or pull something you found on the Internet. Not only is it illegal, but you’ll thank us later when you don’t get confused for every bake shop or gym in town. Do something original.

Everyone, and we literally mean EVERYONE, can benefit from marketing their business on social media in some way or another. There are a number of different ways to do it, but you absolutely NEED to be doing it.

A mobile-friendly website is another business essential. It doesn’t have to have all the bells and whistles. A simple landing page with some basic information about your company, what you do and how to contact you may be it.

Talk to your clients. Blogging, email, text messaging, direct mail, events – there are a variety of ways to reach out and educate or entertain your audience. Depending on who you’re trying to reach, we’re betting you have something good to say!

While you might think that your business is primarily done over the phone, email or Internet these days, that personal connection you make when you offer someone a business card is unmatched. And never miss out on an opportunity to shake someone’s hand!
